The FM Sudafix Group is enormously proud to announce the recent training initiative that they have delivered to Gamtel (Gambia telecommunications) through the JMI training division. The training lectures and workshops were led by the FM Sudafix Technical Director John Maher and supported by other members of the JMI training team. The course covered numerous modules, such as lightning theory and applying its standards, earthing principals for telecommunication sites, and protecting against the threat of electrical surges. Shortly after arriving back in the UK, before setting off on his next trip John Maher stated: “As soon as I heard about the training due to occur with Gamtel I knew that I had to clear my schedule and attend. The African continent has been under resourced in terms of technical expertise for far too long and I was committed to playing my part in changing that. When we held our first meetings with Gamtel senior management it swiftly became apparent that other European companies had failed them in the past and I was determined to rectify that. Watching the Gamtel team embrace the latest techniques and establishing the considerable difference they could make to the Gambia was both humbling and inspiring. It is a true testament to Abdoulie Bass and the Gamtel management that they are prepared to invest in development of their staff and facilities and by doing so invest in the future of the Gambia. This course has been one of our best and it is clear it will make a difference to the Gambia, and in turn making that difference and witnessing Gamtel’s commitment to update, upgrade and improve for their people is a great privilege that has certainly made a difference in me.”
Gamtel was represented at the training by the following delegates: Abdoulie Bass, Alieu Sanneh, Dodou Njie, Edrisa Jobe, Lamin Chorr, Abdoulie Bojang, Baboucarr Secka, Edrisa Bahoum, Kemo Bojang, and Lamin Kolly.
Below are a sample of the images from the trip to Gambia. You can also view the FM Sudafix Flickr Gallery which has the images from the trip as well.

The FM Sudafix Group has redeveloped the Conducrete website to ensure that it continues to provide the information that interested parties may require when learning about this industry changing product. The demand for the product is considerable as more and more projects learn about its versatility and incredible performance capabilities. The new site has been designed to be easy to navigate using the headings on the left hand side of the page, and is fully supported by the full breadth of FM Sudafix Group web resources and can be found at www.conducrete.com.
EnvirAnode is a unique solution to the challenges of cathodic protection applications and as such it necessitates its own web presence, beyond mere inclusion in the main FM Sudafix website, and the online product portfolio. As it is an environmentally neutral solution it does not result in the environmental impacts of many cathodic protection products, whilst having an incredible longevity. It is no surprise that interest in this product is considerable and FM Sudafix is delighted to offer this redeveloped site to meet the needs of our customers. The new site can be found at www.enviranode.com.
The most significant growth sector for FM Sudafix is in the various applications associated with rail earthing and electrical safety on rail projects. As the expertise of the FM Sudafix team in rail applications becomes more widely sought and recognised the interest in our services and associated rail product range increases. FM Sudafix is pleased to deliver the revamped Rail Earthing website at www.railearthing.com and if you have any questions relating to rail bonding, stray current management, surge protection for rail applications, voltage limiting devices or any of our other rail services or products please do not hesitate to contact a member of our team.

The FM Sudafix Group is enormously proud to announce its sponsorship of the Nottingham GMB Panthers. The sponsorship deal will see the FM Sudafix logo emblazoned above the name-bar on the playing jerseys of the team for the 2010-11 season. The Challenge Cup Champions have come to represent the very best that the Elite Ice Hockey League has to offer which makes them an obvious choice to partner the FM Sudafix Group. Gary Moran, the General Manager of the GMB Panthers, stated: “It is always great news for the club when we can attract and welcome new business partners. The club enjoys the biggest sales of replica shirts in the league and that means we will have around two thousand walking adverts for firms like FM Sudafix in addition to all the media exposure and other profile. The information about the new logo to be added to the shirt designs for next season is already winging its way across the globe.”
Shortly after signing the deal Sean Elliott-Maher, (FMS Strategy & Comms Director), said: “The ever growing profile of the Panthers made this an easy decision for us. The sport is fast, exciting, and entertaining with more and more fans each season. Panthers have a strong market share and are very well thought of in the business world. We in turn will be spreading the word about the Panthers worldwide. Being born and raised in Nottingham means that I’ve always held the Panthers in the highest possible regard and their reputation on and off the ice makes this alliance all the more meaningful. The passion and commitment of the players, backroom staff and importantly the fans puts the other teams in the Elite League in the shade, and that is an ethos FM Sudafix holds in our sectors of operation. Let’s go, Panthers!”

The Middle East Electrical Exhibition 2010 was an energetic and enjoyable experience for all in attendance. Situated on the Ducab stand, as part of the Ducab Connect range, FM Sudafix representatives were in considerable demand. Conducrete®, the high performance conductive concrete supplied by FM Sudafix and its partner Ducab, was one of the most talked about products in the entire exhibition as consultants and project managers swarmed to the Ducab stand to learn more about its superior attributes. FM Sudafix Group Chief Executive Steve Hutchinson provided the following statement: “I was proud to contribute to, and be part of, the official re-launch of the Ducab Connect range. Recognising the importance of this event in the electrical sector calendar, and the local significance of our partnership with Ducab, I ensured that FM Sudafix provided representatives from the senior management to demonstrate our commitment to drive the Ducab Connect range forward. Our Global Sales Director, Will Hodgson, was delighted to meet with attendees and establish new opportunities for future growth of the specialist earthing products element within the Ducab Connect range. I offer my sincere gratitude to all those wonderful people who took the time to come to the stand to meet with us and thank them for their politeness and attention during our conversations. My personal positive experience of the exhibition based upon the response from those attending the show was further enhanced by the media attention focused upon the seminar hosted by Ducab Connect Manager Roy Heatherington and co-hosted by FM Sudafix Group Strategy & Communications Director Sean Elliott-Maher. It is a great honour to be part of the ongoing successes of Ducab, and representing its partnership with FM Sudafix was a highlight of my career and I look forward to many more opportunities to do so in future.”

With its high performance cathodic protection that saves money and the planet, it is no surprise that EnvirAnode® is being selected to protect so many projects all over the world. The EnvirAnode® system is amongst the most advanced products in the specialist earthing and cathodic protection field, and it has been developed with a considerably enhanced durability to provide it with a longer operational lifespan. One of the most important elements within the EnvirAnode® system is Conducrete® which is used to create superior earthing/grounding systems, and this significantly contributes to its robust performance; more information on Conducrete® can be found at www.conducrete.com. To help communicate the attributes of EnvirAnode® to the substantial numbers of consultants and contractors wishing to learn more about this cathodic protection system the FM Sudafix Group has developed a new website, which can be found on www.enviranode.com.
This website is intended to provide the right information to help responsible consultants and contractors make the right choice for their project and budget; EnvirAnode has already made a considerable difference to global projects and the increase in installation of this system suggests that organizations do not wish to be discovered installing a different type of cathodic protection system and then have to explain why they did not select EnvirAnode.
