The GMB Panthers, sponsored by FM Sudafix, were joined on the ice by an incredibly special guest recently. International singing star Michael Bublé dropped in to wear the club colours and skate with the team before his sell-out concert. After meeting the players he was full of praise for the team and during the concert even had them singing along to one of his songs. The visit to the Panthers is expected to be featured on a television documentary which we’re told is likely to go worldwide and be released on DVD in the near future.
FM Sudafix Group Strategy and Communications Director, Sean Elliott-Maher spoke about Michael Bublé grabbing some ice time with the Panthers, “I have to admit that when we made the sponsorship deal with the Panthers I had no idea how satisfying it would be to see the players take to the ice wearing the company logo, but I never imagined a platinum selling recording artist would be wearing it at some point too! In truth Michael Bublé clearly has excellent taste, choosing to pull on the shirt of the best team in the league, and his interview on Panthers radio made it clear how much respect and admiration this huge star has for the Panthers players.”
Whilst we do not expect to see Michael Bublé wearing a Panthers shirt in a face off against the Sheffield Steelers any time soon, we can all hope that one day he’ll lace up his skates with the Panthers again.
