This week the FM Sudafix Group was delighted to see the launch of the new Nottingham Panthers playing shirts as these are the first shirts bearing the company logo. Present at the unveiling were FM Sudafix Group CEO Steve Hutchinson, Technical Director John Maher, Integrated Systems Manager Calum Heath and Communications Director Sean Elliott-Maher. Also attending were Nottingham Panthers GM Gary Moran, Nottingham Panthers coach Corey Neilson and PWR Lettings Partner, and former Nottingham Panther No. 17, Simon Perkins. During his glittering playing career Simon Perkins was an important player for the Panthers and has continued his association with the club by playing in veterans matches for charity and continuing to support them throughout their achievements.
Whilst he was playing for the Panthers Simon Perkins was sponsored by A.W. Elliott & Co. Ltd. the specialist earthing and lightning protection company that provided FM Sudafix Group Technical Director John Maher with his first taste of the electrical safety sector; indeed in conjunction with A.W. Elliott (Chairman of the company bearing his name) John Maher prompted the sponsorship of Simon Perkins. John Maher stated ‘Simon being here today has made this moment very special for me, and indeed all of us, and I could not be more proud that the FM Sudafix Group has picked up on this legacy which started at A.W. Elliott & Co. Ltd.. That company enjoyed numerous champagne moments, such as our work for HRH Queen Elizabeth II on the restoration of Windsor Castle, but on a personal level our support of Simon and the Panthers ranks comparably with that; I am pleased beyond words that with FM Sudafix I can continue the association with one of the most important sports teams in the country.’
In his post-playing career Simon Perkins has continued to demonstrate a winning mentality as he leads from the front at PWR Lettings www.pwrlettings.co.uk; that being said he still generously provides his time and efforts to causes he champions and this was typified in his part in the Panthers Vs Cancer charity match in which he played with fellow veterans against the new Panthers talent last year; ‘being part of a wonderful club like the Panthers never leaves you, and I am proud to have represented my home city, and country in this sport that I love. Being part of this event, handing over the sponsorship torch in a way, is humbling because any sports team is reliant upon support, be it in the form of a corporate sponsorship like this, or more importantly in terms of the fans who provide the impetus for our teams to win, and who are there to share and commiserate if things do not go to plan. It is clear to see that John’s love of the game has continued since his time at Elliotts’ and I am sure that Alf Elliott would have been fully in agreement with this sponsorship.’
Steve Hutchinson stated ‘I think this sponsorship deal is an important benchmark for the FM Sudafix Group. We are committed to using our successes to help pave the way for the successes of others, allying ourselves with the Nottingham Panthers is great for the team and for ourselves and we look forward to joining the Panthers faithful at the matches to see this fantastic team build upon the legacy of success. It is great that Simon has made himself available today because you can still see how important it is to him that he was number 17 for Panthers, and also how vital he remains to the ongoing legacy of the team. I am confident that Gary Moran, the backroom staff, and all of the players are going to do everything they can to achieve great things this year.’ This event was picked up by The Nottingham Evening Post here:
